It uses radio frequency identification tags to locate items and a laser range finder to avoid collisions."

This sounds like a good innovation, but I have to imagine it would be very costly. It would be cheaper to hire someone to walk around with a blind shopper. It would be more personal and more effective. There may come a day where robotic shoppers would be practical or even desireable, but probably not until you can just have them shop for you.
